Hi there,
My name is Alan Crosbie,
I rode speedway motorcycles at Templeton
Ruapuna in the 70's-80's.
Where we started teams racing,
weather you have heard of it,
or not,it went off very succesfully.
Ronnie's Rebel's and the Radio Avon Devil's
were the team's.
It was only run as a teams challenge,
not as a continous League Teams Racing competion.
Thats what this is all about.
I want to see Speedway grow in
Popularity,Wealth,Riders and Support,
so I am taking the bull by the horns,
and going to give it my best shot.
With your help support and encouragement
I am sure we can all make this work.
The concept of this is to start with three teams,
and as riders increase there can be teams added
to join the Leauge.
There are to be 3 heat leaders no's 1,3,5.
3 second string 2,4,6 a reserve no 7.
and a number 8 per team,
which can be shifted around depending on Performace,
only by the manager, with the captains assistance.
A rider can only be dropped from a team if not pulling his weight
or stepping outside any track controlling body or team rules.
This can only be done with good evidence and logged with
KIWI-LEAGUE
(This is for the rider's protection)
Obviosly there will be teething problems getting this tuned
so there will flexibility needed all round.
This will be run over the season, over approximately
ten League matches throughout the south Island
with home and away matches.
Riders will be contracted to their home tracks
and their managers.
None of this will affect any indivdual Championships or events.
The racing is going to be run basically the same format
as British Leauge,a bit simpler if we can.
The riders will be acountable to their managers,
the managers will be accountable to
(KIWI-LEAUGE)
Who is going to promote and coordinate it all,
and put the whole venture together etc.
Well this is the basic introduction to what we propose as the Promoter,
I'll leave it with you and hope you can give us all your support. Croz.
